Itinerary
After pick-up from your hotel , begin your scenic drive to Kargil, depending on road-opening timings. Journey through the picturesque Sindh Valley, one of Kashmir's largest tributary valleys, and reach Sonamarg (2,740 m), famously called the "Meadow of Gold." Continue along the rugged road over Zoji La Pass (3,527 m), the gateway to Ladakh, and drive through Drass, the second coldest inhabited place in the world. Arrive in Kargil (2,710 m) for dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
After an early breakfast, depart from Kargil for Leh, enjoying a scenic drive through the rugged landscapes of Ladakh. En route, visit the Mulbekh Monastery and the ancient Lamayuru Monastery, famed for its dramatic backdrop and the nearby Moonland formations. Cross Namkila and Fatu La Passes, the highest on the Srinagar-Leh route. Stop at the 1,000-year-old Alchi Monastery, the only monastery in the region built on flat ground. Continue to the confluence of Indus & Zanskar rivers (Sangam), visit Pathar Sahib Gurdwara, Magnetic Hill, and the Leh Hall of Fame. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Drive from Leh to Nubra Valley via Khardung La Pass, one of the world's one of highest motorable roads at 5,550 meters. Enjoy breathtaking mountain views and photo stops en route. Visit Diskit village and explore Diskit Monastery, home to the impressive 106-foot Maitreya Buddha statue overlooking the valley. Continue to Hunder, famous for its high-altitude sand dunes and rare double-humped Bactrian camels, with an optional camel ride. Return to your camp or hotel in Nubra for dinner and an overnight stay.
Nubra to Pangong Lake via Shayok (165 Kms/05 — 06 hrs). After breakfast, depart for Pangong Lake, located at 14,500 feet, via the scenic Shayok route through Tangtse and Spangmik. This beautiful shortcut follows the Shayok River, passing charming villages surrounded by barren mountains. By afternoon, arrive at Pangong Lake and spend time enjoying its crystal-blue waters and peaceful surroundings. Dinner and an overnight stay at the camp near Pangong Lake.
After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to Hanie, crossing Chushul Village and Tsaga La Pass (15,200 ft) along the way. Hanle is renowned for the Indian Astronomical Observatory, one of the highest observatories in the world, offering spectacular star-gazing opportunities. Historically, it is believed that King Sengge Namgyal passed away here while returning from an expedition against the Mongols. Experience the warmth of Ladakhi hospitality by staying with locals at a guesthouse or homestay. Overnight stay in Hanle.
Chumathang Hot Springs to relax and enjoy the natural warm waters amidst the stunning landscapes. Continue the journey to Leh and spend the evening at leisure. Overnight stay in Leh.
After breakfast check-oute hotel. Full-day drive to Srinagar. Later check-in hotel. Overnight stay in Srinagar.
After breakfast transfer to Srinagar Airport for your onward journey with beautiful memories of Ladakh & Kashmir.
